how we can help you

installation

We design, supply, install and commission smoke detection as well as fire suppression systems for your facilities. Turn-key fire detection and suppression systems. Our technology partners supply us with the most up to date and effective equipment.

surveys

We are able to carry out surveys and design systems to meet not only the  SANS specifications but fit the client’s budget and requirements. A fire safety survey is a detailed and methodical examination of a company’s premises, and the activities to minimise the threat from fire.

Intrinsic Safety (IS) areas require a specialised approach for the design of equipment going into hazardous areas. The idea is to reduce the available energy to a level where it is too low to be a source of ignition. This requires specialised equipment and design requirements.

trained staff

All our staff are trained and qualified by approved industry bodies. They are skilled in installing and maintaining all detection and protection systems. We also have facilities on site for staff training and testing installed electronic systems.

service level agreements

We offer tailored service level agreements (SLA’s) to suit our clients demands. The SLA’s can be once off or long term, they will cover all the fire detection installations to ensure proper compliance and functioning of the systems.

further services

SSR has qualified technicians for the installation of access control and digital CCTV systems. They can be tailored for your factory premises or offices. Public address system installations are offered a well.

Supression Gases

We use the best quality gas suppression systems designed for fire suppression in data processing, telecommunication rooms, substations and many other applications.

FM 200

FM 200 (HFC-227 or HFC-227ea) is a colourless, odourless gaseous halocarbon commonly used as a gaseous fire suppression agent. HFC-227ea is commonly used for fire suppression systems in data processing and telecommunication facilities as well as the protection of flammable liquids and gases.

Inergen Gaseous System

The Inergen gaseous system is an inert gas fire suppressant consisting of natural gases and extinguishes fire without causing harm to people, property or the environment.
Inergen fire systems are designed to detect smoke, release the extinguishment gas and suppress the fire before any significant damage occurs.

Novec 1230

Novec 1230 is an environmentally friendly Halon replacement for use as a gaseous fire suppression in areas such as banks, clean rooms and hospitals. Novec1230 is a waterless fire suppressant and extinguishes a fire by removing the free radicals or heat element of the fire triangle (Oxygen, Heat and Fuel).

Carbon dioxide CO2

A CO2 fire suppression system eliminates the oxygen to suppress the fire. When the suppression system detects smoke or fire, it then releases the CO2 agent into the space it is protecting. The CO2 level in the space quickly increases as the oxygen level quickly drops causing the fire to be suppressed or extinguished.

How a fire suppression system works

A fire suppression system has built-in components that detect fires at the beginning stages through heat, smoke, and other warning signals. These are attached to an alarm system that will alert you when the fire has been detected and initiate steps for action to further suppress the fire. The majority of fire suppression systems will automatically release the application of an external substance to extinguish the fire after the detection and/or alert. Our technology partners supply us with the most up to date and effective equipment.
